Karen’s name was given to me through a referral and I am forever grateful. The Hundred Story Home is a beautiful example of her precision, professionalism and creativity. From the distinctive chapter heading icons to the meticulous text treatments, Karen’s attention to detail makes this book shine. She was a pleasure to work with and always went the extra mile—even running (literally) to ship a replacement package when a delivery service lost a manuscript. I would recommend her to any author or publisher who is seeking an outstanding finished product.

Karen is one very talented person. Her eye to detail is incredible. Our children’s book, Nico’s Tail, has over 30 illustrations and several character silhouettes, with very tricky page layouts that needed to lead young readers to the next chapter. Karen gave us many versions to choose from and she made revisions and edits so quickly and efficiently, that the process was very enjoyable. Working with Karen was like a dream come true!

Karen Minster is not only an excellent designer, but also an advisor & mentor. She helped me put together my first book, The Story of the Blockchain, A Beginner’s Guide to the Technology That Nobody Understands, and I could not have done it without her. She was able to pick up on my intended look and feel fairly quickly and deliver design proposals that I was very pleased with. She also suggested certain additional elements that I never would have thought of, but in retrospect have become an important part of my book’s identity
Aside from coming up with a beautiful design and executing it flawlessly, Karen was also invaluable in the guidance she provided throughout the process. This was my first book, and I was initially intimidated by my lack of knowledge about the process. Karen provided helpful pointers from our first phone conversation and helped me make important decisions along the way. She also introduced me to my illustrator and cover designer, both of whom were excellent. I have already referred her to several friends and look forward to working with her again myself in the future.

Karen is by far the best designer that I have come across in my 30+ years as an author.

Your book will look better than anything you could hope for with the rest of the designers out there.

Choosing Karen to design the interior of The Tremble of Love: A Novel of the Baal Shem Tov could not have been a wiser, more rewarding choice! Karen’s level of skill, her commitment to serving the book, her exquisite aesthetics, attention to fine detail, responsive communication, collaborative spirit, and her warm, kind heart made working together on The Tremble of Love, my first book, a richly fulfilling journey! I cannot wait for our next project together!

I didn’t fully appreciate interior book design before working with Karen. I understand now that it is an art form. Karen made my book beautiful on the inside, including part opener artwork. And she was great to work with: professional, on time and energetic. It’s clear she has a lot of experience and loves what she does.

Karen is an interior book designer with her own unique artistic flare. She offers a professional, friendly, and quality service. Together our collaboration fashioned a delightful product I was more than happy with. I would certainly recommend considering Karen for your book’s interior design.

Karen’s ingenuity and professionalism never cease to amaze me. She designed my two previous novels, The Gay Detective and Only in Key West, and did an incredible job. Both of these were fiction and had some complicated elements, messages scribbled on walls by a serial killer for example.
When I decided to have her design How’s Your Prostate?, a non-fiction self-help novel, I didn’t know what to expect. But, as usual, Karen did an incredible job, using different fonts and special spacing to make the inside elements pop and remain interesting. When I had questions, she was always available for me and helped me with decisions. She also acted as a liaison in the design of the epub a emobi editions, which I found extremely helpful.
Karen is the “real deal.” She’s a professional in every sense of the word and has proven to me that she is adaptable and caring about your book. I would not hesitate to use her for whatever book I write and I recommend her highly.

Karen is easy going, creative, and one of the best in the business. Her patience is endless and her perfectionism a gift she uses to make your book unique. When I needed a special font to describe a murder, Karen offered me several choices, each very different and unusual. When I was confused, she would help clarify, when in doubt, she would narrow the choices, when perplexed, we brainstormed until we came up with a solution.
I recommend her highly and plan on using her for my next book. If you want your book to look its best, use Karen.
—KEN MICHAELS
I can’t praise Karen highly enough. Her work for me was fast, professional, accurate and knowledgeable. People have complimented me specifically on the readability of my book. Having worked in publishing for years, I knew enough about page design and layout to know I couldn’t do it myself—and enough to know really top-quality work when I see it. Karen’s work was of the highest quality and she was a pleasure to deal with.

Karen’s interior design of my novel, Gate of Fog, greatly enhanced its look and readability. She offered her design suggestions with a constant concern that I was pleased with the choices of font, pitch, graphics, and other features. Her patience with my numerous changes to the manuscript was manifest during development. Karen continued to work diligently on the design until I was completely satisfied with the final result.
